District 24 : Recovery, Unity & ServiceServing Alcoholics in Scott County and Eastern Carver CountyWhat is District 24?District 24 is a service entity of Alcoholics Anonymous. We represent and serve A.A. members in Scott County and Eastern Carver County of Minnesota, including groups meeting in Shakopee, Prior Lake, Chaska, Savage, New Prague, and Belle Plaine. Why is District 24 valuable to A.A. members? When A.A. group-elected General Service Representatives (G.S.R.s) share information about their groups at the District meeting, we are able to help each other develop unity within the Fellowship. Also, we forward your group conscience to the Area Delegate, who attends the annual A.A. General Service Conference and votes on major proposals that affect the entire A.A. Fellowship. District 24 is your link to having a voice in Alcoholics Anonymous as a whole. How is District 24 serving A.A.’s primary purpose?Always, our purpose is to carry the A.A. message to the alcoholic who still suffers. District 24 assists groups and members in serving this purpose. We work through committees to reach alcoholics outside of our meetings: jails and other correctional facilities, treatment centers, professionals who encounter alcoholics, and the public. Who is involved in District 24?In addition to group-elected G.S.R.s, the District Committee is made up of officers and standing committee chairs. Our officers are trusted servants elected by the G.S.R.s; they are responsible to the groups and do not govern. Beyond the District Committee, A.A. members from all over Scott and Carver Counties are involved in our various committees. District 24 has a place for any alcoholic who is interested. When & Where is the District 24 meeting? We meet on the first Monday of every month at 7:00pm. The meeting is held at St. John's Lutheran Church, located on the corner of 8th and Fuller in Shakopee. All A.A. members are welcome to attend. Disrict 24 WebsiteOur PurposeThis website serves to help carry out the primary functions of District 24, namely:
